I was looking for a Bronze Needle Damselfly in Teviot Brook near Boonah and noticed movement near the edge of the creek.

As I moved quietly forward, a male Powdered Wiretail flew out of the vegetation and landed in view.

The outer (distal) portion of the male's lower (inferior) appendages are more slender than the upper (superior) appendages as shown in the following image looking down on the end of the abdomen from above.
